Training "ACCESS"
ACCESS: The Way In - Training for Missional Service with International Teams.
We believe training is an essential component of preparation for missionaries service. Initial training program for all missionaries includes five component parts of ACCESS (A1-A5).
A1: Starting Out
The A1 training consists of pre-arrival preparation for an in-residence training normally held in Elgin, IL. Work ahead of time helps maximize the A2 and A3 sessions.
A2: Discovering More
This eight day training period is designed as primarily an "in-class" training and education. Focus is placed on core values, vision, cross-cultural adaptation, learning about IT's global ministries, and the ITeams "systems" you'll need to get by while on the field.
A3: Experiencing More
The A3 component focuses more on active learning and application experiences. Also held in proximity to the Elgin Ministry Center, A3 involves more interactive exercises, including developing a personal life plan and specific cross-cultural experiences.
A4: Learning to Talk
For all missionaries headed to ministries requiring a second language, we provide second language acquisition training by top-notch professionals.
A5: The Way Out
After finishing at the Elgin Ministry Center, we help our missionaries continue to prepare spiritually and emotionally. Missionaries interact with a local mentor as well as the long-distance coaching they receive from ITeams-USA during this time.
