INTRODUCING LIVEBYGIVING.ORG

Elgin, Illinois – ITeams USA is pleased to announce the launch of LiveByGiving.org, a new way for people to partner with ITeams projects. This online tool allows people to give on behalf of others, while having a significant impact on ministries that serve the most vulnerable people on earth – the poor, the refugee, and the orphan.

“Not only is LiveByGiving an effective way to care for the needs of the oppressed, but it is also a tool to encourage generous giving for future generations,” says Rev. Scott Olson, President and CEO of ITeams USA.

What does the name mean?
Winston Churchill once said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." The name “LiveByGiving” expresses the essence of this statement. The web site was created to invite people to share the joy of connecting with real-time, real-world missionaries – and changing lives – from the comfort of their computers.

How does it work?
Visitors to the site can choose a particular project to support, or pick 1-10 friends and family members and purchase a LiveByGiving gift credit for each. ITeams sends the gift credits out by email, and all recipients can come to LiveByGiving.org and choose projects to give to. Gifts can celebrate a special occasion (i.e. new baby, wedding, anniversary, birthday), or honor someone for an achievement. All gifts support ITeams ministries that serve physically, economically, and spiritually oppressed people around the world.

How is it different?
LiveByGiving cultivates a distinctive community of giving by offering people the chance to follow the progress of their projects and interact with project leaders on the LiveByGiving blog. Visitors can also spread the word about projects by making gifts on behalf of those they care about. By empowering gift recipients to choose exactly where their gift goes, LiveByGiving immediately involves people in the philanthropy experience.
