LETTER FROM STEPHEN FRASER, INTERIM PRESIDENT
Dear Friends,Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Dr. David Schroeder announced at the end of July that he was leaving ITeams USA to become President of a Christian college in NJ – and that I will be serving as Interim President until his successor is found. I’d like to introduce myself and update you about some developments at ITeams USA.
By way of personal background, I spent the first ten years of my life living on the edge of the Navajo reservation outside of Flagstaff, AZ. My grandparents served as Plymouth Brethren missionaries to the Native Americans in that part of the Southwest (Navajo, Hopi, Zuni, Pima, primarily) while my father was serving/teaching at the University of Northern Arizona.
My childhood seemed like every other kid’s childhood; it didn’t occur to me until my family later moved to suburban New Jersey that it was unusual to grow up “on the mission field”! I met my wife Elizabeth as a teenager at a large Christian & Missionary Alliance church in central NJ, where we eventually were married (some 25 years ago).
Ten years ago, Elizabeth and I moved from New Jersey to the Chicago area with our 3 children. Elizabeth works as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist and I, in addition to my role at ITeams USA, serve as President and CEO of a national logistics company (think warehouses, trucks, rail operations, etc.). I joined the Board of Directors of ITeams USA a few years ago, was asked to assume the responsibilities of Board Chair around the middle of 2006, and became Interim President in late July of 2007.
I am honored to augment the outstanding, existing leadership team at ITeams USA. During this time the Board has appointed a Presidential Search Committee, comprised of a cross section of Board members, missionaries, Elgin Ministry Center staff, and other ministry leaders, who are beginning the prayerful work of seeking the Lord’s direction in finding the person He is raising up to lead ITeams USA for its next period of growth. Everyone who is part of ITeams USA truly covets your prayers as we work to do our best to preserve, strengthen, and expand the exciting ministry of this organization!
We hope you will join us as we pray that God will grant us the wisdom and discernment we need in searching for the next President of ITeams USA, and in making daily decisions that extend the Kingdom of God and bring salvation and hope to the lost and unreached.
