CHINA EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
Aftershocks of the earthquake which devastated China on May 12, 2008 continue to demolish homes and injure hundreds. Many of you have contacted us asking how you can help.
Jane*, an ITeams missionary serving in the greater area around Chengdu, China, is leading a long-term effort to minister to survivors, meet their physical needs, and help rebuild broken lives. Many residents of this city currently sleep in the streets, daring only to go indoors briefly to cook and bathe because of the continuous threat of aftershocks.
Urgent needs include funds for relief supplies and Chinese-speaking counselors that can come to China for 2-3 weeks to serve traumatized survivors. Although access to the greater Chengdu area remains very limited, Jane can receive funds electronically to purchase rice and blankets, and in collaboration with the local church, distribute them to the people who need them most.
You can contribute to Jane's ministry by visiting our giving web page and designating funds to "China Earthquake Relief."
