Due to the famine and subsequent violence in the Horn of Africa, Kenya experienced a huge influx of Somali refugees in 2011. Over 400,000 refugees settled into the Dadaab Refugee Camp, the largest refugee camp in the world. This devastating crisis continues as we move into 2012 with an ongoing need to provide food, shelter, and safety for the refugees as they flee hunger and violence in their own country. Kenya has now closed its border to Somalia. Our team in Kenya, led by Dotun and Ami Modupe, works holistically among African refugees and partners with other organizations in that area.
