OUR MISSION

International Teams is helping churches embrace refugees along the Refugee Highway through contextualized ministries of...

PRESENCE
Refugees often feel unwanted and isolated. We welcome refugees into our communities, our homes and our lives. We offer them a safe place where they can come and know that they are welcome. We share meals, stories and celebrations. We visit them. We pray together. We know their names.

COMPASSION
Refugees often own little more than the clothing they are wearing. We pray for and seek after God's provision for hope, food, shelter, clothing, furniture, transportation and other basic needs.

EMPOWERMENT
Although capable and resourceful people, refugees have little influence or power with which they can help themselves. We affirm their God-given dignity and give them a voice. We assist them in the asylum process. We offer them ways to redeem their time with meaningful activities and opportunities for personal development. We help them learn to communicate in their new host-culture language and develop meaningful relationships. We invest in their faith. We provide opportunities for refugees to be givers and not only receivers. We open doors.

TRAINING
We encourage, coach and resource churches engaging in refugee ministry.

As the Church, we have a clear mandate from God to "love the alien as we love ourselves" (Lev. 19:34). IT Refugee Ministries is committed to helping churches love refugees by...

1) demonstrating compassion to refugees (Deut. 14:2,29; 24:19-21; Matt. 25:36,37)

2) promoting justice on behalf of refugees (Deut. 24:14, 17; 27:19)

3) offering community to refugees, integrating them into our communities (Lev. 25:35; Deut. 31:12,13)

4) making disciples of refugees (Deut. 31:12,13; Matt. 28:19,20)
