OUR MINISTRY - website
The primary purpose of the International Teams East Asia – Cambodia Teams (ITEACT) is to be a catalyst for the church in Cambodia to become engaged in fulfilling the Biblical mandate for holistic mission.
The Kampong Cham Youth Ministry Partnership was started by ITeams missionaries in 2005, in partnership with a local Cambodian organization doing leadership training with Christian youth. The management of this project was transitioned to local staff in 2008, though ITeams continues to provide support and oversight for the work. With the recent registration of a local NGO under the auspices of ITeams in Cambodia (called KdeySokSan Kampuchea), our "half" of the partnership is known as the Kampong Cham Youth Development Center.
The vision of the Kampong Cham Youth Development Center is to see youth in Kampong Cham (a provincial area of Cambodia) with leadership potential develop their character and competence for effective engagement in productive work, cooperative social relationships, and community transformation. Programs operated through this center include the BLAST Institute (a program which equips young leaders with basic aptitudes and skills which they need to exercise quality leadership, such as English, computer literacy, music, and entrepreneurship) and the OASIS (a recreational and learning drop-in center for youth). Other leadership training programs are in our strategic plan but on hold due to funding shortfalls.
