OUR MISSION
I.T./Athens is striving to be a FULL-SERVICE station on this exit ramp of the Refugee Highway by partnering with churches to offer practical services which demonstrate the care of God for the refugee as a whole person, and which invite the refugee to be a part of advancing His kingdom among the nations.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
| Children's Worker Assistant | ||
Assist with the children's programs at the Athens Refugee Center and work with individual refugee children and their families. Possible "homework club" after-school tutoring program in future. |

| Computer Technical Support | ||
In addition to Team Ministry, this person will maintain, repair, and upgrade existing computer equipment and software applications. This includes the development and maintenance of dynamic websites for public and non-public use. Secondly, this person will assist team members with computer problems; He/She will advise and recommend to the Leadership Team the need for upgrading both equipment and software . This person may be asked to plan, develop and teach basic computer skills to refugees. He/She will actively pursue donations of computer technology, equipment, and labor. Experience on PC's and Macs helpful. |

| Shower Ministry | ||
Of the more than 2,500 refugees who enter the Athens Refugee Center doors each week, we are currently only able to offer 50 of them a shower. This includes soap, shampoo, towels, and water/electricity used for the showers and washing machine. Total Need: $470.00 per month |

Refugee believers have joined the IT Athens team and are incredibly effective at reaching other refugees. Their ability to be involved in the ministry long-term is dependent upon sources of funding. Currently the monthly support need would cover three individuals. Total Need: $4,900 per month |

| Tea House | ||
The Tea House ministry of the Athens Refugee Center serves more than 1200 refugees every week from Iran, Iraq, Kurdistan, Afghanistan as well as from parts of Africa and other nations. They are provided with a cup of tea and a place to sit and relax, play a game, talk with friends or staff, and hear the gospel, through videos, personal conversations, English classes, etc. They also received a small bag of food. The team is unable to provide adequate meals for the refugees they are serving. |

| Sleeping Bags | ||
with the weather changing now, and most of these refugees living on the streets or in the parks, there are constant requests for blankets to keep them warm at night.; sleeping bags can be purchased for a reasonable price and are more helpful. We can buy good sleeping bags here for $12 USD each. |

| Medical Clinic | ||
we are currently seeking the Lord for a facility to use for a free medical clinic for refugees. We already have Christian doctors who are ready to commit time and equipment if we can find a place. We will need $1,500USD monthly for rent and utilities, $2500 for initial set-up costs |

| The Refuge | ||
This is a large new facility that would house the entire Athens Refugee Ministry as well as provide shelter for up to 100 homeless refugees at a time. Plans are being made to purchase property and build a building. Total Need: $2 million |

| Women's and Children's ministry | ||
This ministry is currently operating, but funds are needed to maintain and grow it amidst the increasing number of women and children refugees needing help. His love is being demonstrating by providing a warm and caring environment as well as warm meals, Bible studies, discussions, crafts, and singing. |

this is ALWAYS an urgent and important need as there is a continual stream of refugees with terrible shoes (or no shoes) and only the clothing on their backs. We can buy a new pair of shoes from a contact here for $12 USD. |
