OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
| Children's Worker | ||
| In addition to team ministry, this person will assist with the children’s programs at the Athens Refugee Center and work with individual refugee children and their families. Possible activities: crafts and Bible lessons at our Tea House ministry, camps, beach days, family nights, and other events. | Long Term | |
| English and Modern Greek Teachers | ||
| In addition to team ministry, this person will teach language courses (English or Greek) at our Tea House ministry, as well as be encouraged to pursue tutoring and small group teaching opportunities. There are opportunities at beginning, intermediate, and/or advanced levels. | Long Term | |
| Farsi, Kurdish, and Arabic Speakers | ||
| We have a great need for team members with language skills (native or learned) in Farsi/Dari, Arabic, or Kurdish. Whether you are a Bible teacher (large group, small group, or one-on-one) or simply willing to translate for one, you're needed in Athens! Arabic, Farsi/Dari, and Kurdish speakers are needed to join in our team ministries (e.g. feeding and outreach programs, Bible studies, and more). | Long Term | |
| Housing Program Workers | ||
| In addition to team ministry, this person will assist in the daily operation of our Nest ministry – apartments which provide basic shelter for homeless refugees. Possible service opportunities include Bible studies, language courses, building maintenance, mentoring, referrals, and more. We are recruiting "house parents" (couples or singles), who are willing to serve as live-in house supervisors. | Long Term | |
| Servants Who Love God & Love People | ||
| We love people who are willing to simply serve. Even if a specific job description doesn't seem to fit, we desire team members who are willing to love and serve in team ministry as needs arise. Women and men with experience and skills in computer systems/technical support, volunteer training, counseling, family ministry, job training, evangelism, Bible teaching and much more are regularly needed and essential to our ministry. | Long Term | |

| Shower Ministry | ||
| Of the more than 2,500 refugees who enter the Athens Refugee Center doors each week, we are currently only able to offer 50 of them a shower. This includes soap, shampoo, towels, and water/electricity used for the showers and washing machine. Total Need: $470.00 per month | 470 USD | |
| Refugee Teammates | ||
| Refugee believers have joined the IT Athens team and are incredibly effective at reaching other refugees. Their ability to be involved in the ministry long-term is dependent upon sources of funding. Currently the monthly support need would cover three individuals. | Tea House | ||
| The Tea House ministry of the Athens Refugee Center serves more than 1200 refugees every week from Iran, Iraq, Kurdistan, Afghanistan as well as from parts of Africa and other nations. They are provided with a cup of tea and a place to sit and relax, play a game, talk with friends or staff, and hear the gospel, through videos, personal conversations, English classes, etc. They also received a small bag of food. The team is unable to provide adequate meals for the refugees they are serving. | 4,000 USD | |
| Sleeping Bags | ||
| with the weather changing now, and most of these refugees living on the streets or in the parks, there are constant requests for blankets to keep them warm at night.; sleeping bags can be purchased for a reasonable price and are more helpful. | The Refuge | ||
| This is a large new facility that would house the entire Athens Refugee Ministry as well as provide shelter for up to 100 homeless refugees at a time. Plans are being made to purchase property and build a building. Total Need: $2 million |

| Women's and Children's ministry | ||
| This ministry is currently operating, but funds are needed to maintain and grow it amidst the increasing number of women and children refugees needing help. His love is being demonstrating by providing a warm and caring environment as well as warm meals, Bible studies, discussions, crafts, and singing. | 500 USD | |
| Clothing Ministry | ||
| this is ALWAYS an urgent and important need as there is a continual stream of refugees with terrible shoes (or no shoes) and only the clothing on their backs. We can buy a new pair of shoes from a contact here for $12 USD. | 0 USD | |
