OUR MISSION

Our vision is to share the light and love of Jesus Christ with refugees, asylum seekers, other displaced Internationals who have resettled in the in the Fort Wayne area. It is our desire to demonstrate the kingdom of God, asking God to establish His kingdom wherever it will take root in the International community.

THE TEAM

I-Teams-Ft.Wayne works in partnership with International House, a local outreach to refugees, asylum seekers, and other Internationals in the Fort Wayne area.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

Children's Program Director
  The Children’s Ministry Director will develop programs for the children during African Fellowship, Women's Club, Computer Labs, and also be the director for the Summer Kid’s Program. Much of the outreach, however, will be done one-on-one and within family units. The The goal of the Children’s Ministry Director should be to become a “friend of the children.” He or she will also need to recruit and train team of volunteers to assist in various children’s programs. ESL Teachers/Tutors
  Male or female ESL teachers are need for for our five level classroom program also to tutor/teach individuals and small groups that meet in homes and apartments. Long Term
Micro-enterprise Development Directors / Employment Skills Coaches
  Person to develop micro-enterprise programs for men and women and also serve as an employment coach to help refugees obtain employment in the community. Long Term
Ministry House and Intern House Custodian / Maintenance Person / Groundskeeper
  This couple or person would be responsible for the cleaning, maintaining, and caring for two ministry properties, out buildings, and their lots (three acres). This is a year-round position. Long Term
Social Worker
  1. Would assist families with navigating American systems such as health system and schools system, Would develop training programs in life skills such as appropriate care of children, learning to drive, and money management. Would recruit and oversee volunteers in these areas. Would serve as liaison with community in area of community program development.

Long Term

  Male interns will engage refugee boys in informal times of sports, recreation, and outing.Female interns will develop friendships with refugee girls, spending time with their families, engaging the teenage girls in swimming, cookouts, crafts, and other outings. Interns will be responsible for planning, promoting and directing activities. Interns can also choose to focus on younger children, providing puppet shows, and engaging the children in music, dance, games, and story times. Will also be a work project at facilities.
