We envision a vibrant community which provides a first home to Refugee newcomers. A setting where members of the local church can volunteer and provide friendship, support, and assist with community integration. Welcome Home is a place that the Refugee newcomer can truly call home.

We are a short term housing project that serves refugee newcomers from a varity of languages and cultures in the Kitcher/Waterloo area extenting to Toronto.

We are a partnering ministry with local churches serving the new arrival, refugee claiment and new commers to Canada.

As a Christian ministry, we desire to provide a 'welcome home’ to those who have been forced to flee their homeland due to war, persecution and oppression. These circumstances have prompted us to think of a practical way to express the love of Jesus to the refugee and/or newcomer to Canada. Every year at least 300 new refugee arrivals come to settle in the K/W region, bringing with them stories of horror and sadness, many being severely traumatized because of the torture and abuse they have endured. Many have been on the 'Refugee Highway’ which is a term we use for those whom have been traveling the long road(s) around the world for years, not even having a place they could really call home. The K/W region marks the end of the ‘Refugee Highway’ for many of these forgotten people. They come in search of a new identity, a new life and a new place they can call home. Our approach will be to befriend the tenants and disciple those who are ready and willing, while reaching out with Christ’s love and friendship to those who have not yet made a decision to follow Jesus. There are two apartments and ten single rooms available, plus adequate living and kitchen common space. There are men and women’s washrooms with showers, along with laundry facilities. We sincerely welcome financial partnership with us in this strategic ministry of compassion and mercy, which will not only impact the local community but the world to make Jesus known and see, lives transformed by the power of God.
